Eurostove pledges money for hundreds of new trees across the UK

Mendip Stoves, a brand within the Eurostove range, will donate £10 from every stove sold to the Woodland Trust, the UK’s leading conservation charity to increase tree cover in the UK.

This will help the charity to plant hundreds more native trees across the country.

Chris Baines, Managing Director of Eurostove Ltd said:  “Eurostove & Mendip Stoves are delighted to be working with the Woodland Trust, helping the charity to plant hundreds of trees. We have a huge commitment to being a sustainable business which includes encouraging our customers to use wood from sustainable sources to power our stoves.

“We see the Woodland Trust as being the perfect fit and are delighted that our support will see the planting and protection of trees across the UK.”

Karl Mitchell, Director of Fundraising at the Woodland Trust said: “It is great that Mendip Stoves has chosen to dedicate money through planting trees from the sales of their stoves. They have a clear commitment to promoting the use of sustainably sourced wood. The support will contribute to us increasing woodland cover in the UK – essential with the UK having just 13 per cent cover as opposed to the European average of 44 per cent.”

The Woodland Trust is the UK’s leading woodland conservation charity. It works across the country to restore, plant and protect native woods, wildlife and trees.

Mendip Stoves, proudly supports the WoodlandTrust brand, and as part of its licensing agreement will be designing a bespoke stove which will embody the values of the charity, concentrating on eco-friendly aspects of the design, manufacturing process and performance efficiency.

Over the last 40 years the Woodland Trust has planted over 23 million native trees. The £10 from every Mendip Stove sold is enough to plant three native trees.

Being a British company, Mendip Stoves has a special awareness of stoves in the British home – particularly the quintessential character of a country home and period cottages. Its customers hail from all walks of life, but are especially aware of the wider environment and heritage in which they live – aims embodied by the Woodland Trust.

Together with businesses such as Mendip Stoves the Woodland Trust can achieve its vision of a richly wooded countryside enjoyed and valued by everyone.

The Woodland Trust is a charity registered in England and Wales (No. 294344) and in Scotland (No. SC038885).
