This set comes with everything you need to replace the glass on your Hergom E-30 XS:
Heat Resistant Glass Pane, Glass Rope Seal and Retention Clamps with fixings.
It is essential that a new rope seal is applied when refitting the glass because it maintians the air seal of your appliance. In addition to this, the glass seal also offers a cushion between the glass and the metal door, allowing the glass to safely expand during use.
In preparation for replacing your glass, we recommend that you spray the glass retention nuts with a water displacing oil (e.g.WD40); this will help to lubricate the removal of the screw and minimise the risk of damaging the screw. Ideally, you would leave this to soak in overnight. Do not light your fire immediately after apply the oil, wait until you have replaced the glass.
Overtightening of the retention screws can cause the glass to break, either through sheer force or by not allowing enough expansion room. This can be avoided by carefully fitting the glass and only tightening the rention screws a further half turn of the screw after getting them finger tight.
